Obituary for Cynthia Alicia McGregor (Moses)

Missionary Cynthia Alicia Moses McGregor was born on March 12, 1950 to the late Israel and Alice Monroe Scott Moses. She was a life-long resident of Hagerstown, MD.

Cynthia was affectionately known as "Cindy Mo," "Mo," or simply "Mohead."  She was a graduate of North Hagerstown High School and was very proud of the fact that she was one of the first black students to integrate the North High cheerleading squad.

Early in her career, Cindy worked as a pre-school instructor for Head Start, Human Services. Upon making a career change, she studied nursing at Hagerstown Community College. She spent the later part of her career working at Frederick Healthcare as a certified nursing assistant.

Nursing was not only a career for Cindy, it was her passion. She transferred her love of taking care of others into ministry. She was a founding member and the first President of the Greater Campher Temple Nurses Ministry. Following the retirement of Evangelist Marie Peoples, Bishop Wilbert L. Baltimore appointed her to serve as National Nurses President of the Kings Apostle organization. In this role, she helped to establish Nurses Ministries in local churches and ensured that they were adequately trained in CPR and First Aid.

Cindy also was an integral part of the Kings Apostle Women’s Department. She served as a registrar for the Women's Convention and led the Special Woman project in her local church.

Cindy willingly gave her time and talents to her local church. She was known as an intercessor. She also loved to sing, serving with the Mass Choir in addition to being a longtime member of Greater Campher Temple's Missionary Board, where she served as Vice-President and was an ordained Deacon.  During her more than 40 years at Greater Campher Temple, she served as Vice-President of the Women’s Ministry in addition to coordinating sponsorships for the Annual Vacation Bible School.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her brothers Robert Scott, Sr. and Steven Moses and nephew Donovan Scott. She leaves to cherish her memory one devoted daughter, Minister Teraleen R. Campbell; sister, Josephine Gandy; devoted nieces and nephews, Willie Gandy, Jr. (Denise), Edwina Gandy Monroe (Robert), Troy Gandy, Tanya Gandy Townes, Ann Gaither Salmon, Lori Gaither and Robert Scott, Jr., Aubrey Russ (Wendy), Jean Carroll Keyes (Jaqmel), Mia Moses, and Sheika Moses, in addition to a host of great nieces, nephews and cousins. She also leaves an extended family, which includes her life-long Missionary sister and best friend Katherine “Kitty” Smith along with spiritual sons and daughters, and her friends and staff members at Golden Living Center.

To God be ALL the Glory!
