Mary Barbara Dagliano, 89, passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at her home in Hagerstown, MD.
Mary B. Dagliano was born on August 22, 1930 in Richmond, VA to the late Owen Joseph Mackin and Dorothy Dare Gray, and her guardian Father Albert Pereira. In addition to her parents and guardian, she is preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey V. Dagliano.
She is survived by her sons Keith A. Dagliano of Hagerstown, MD and Kevin M. Dagliano, and his wife, Nanette Dagliano of Greencastle, PA, her granddaughters; Andrea M. Semler, and her husband, Matthew Semler of Hagerstown, MD, Carey E. Dagliano of Seattle, WA, Susan C. Dagliano-Lopez, and her husband, Jose Lopez of Hagerstown, MD, Amy B. Dagliano, and her husband, Eric Neuman of Sterling, VA, and Elizabeth V. Dagliano of Greencastle, PA, and 2 special friends of the family, Denise Kuhna of Hagerstown, MD and Leslie Shrader of Hagerstown, MD. She is also survived by 9 great grandchildren; Samuel, Madeline, Matthew and Grant Semler, Harrison and Sydney Holmes, Leroy and Liliana Lopez, and Audrey Neuman.
Mary B. was an active and giving member of the community. As she started her own family, she also served as a foster parent for over 50 total children. She was a parishioner and founding member of the Catholic Daughters at St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was a volunteer at the Washington County Hospital as part of the Women’s Auxiliary, for Hospice of Hagerstown, Holly Place, Hagerstown Women’s Club, and The Maryland Theater. She was a member of many social groups to include The 55 and Up Club, card clubs, domino clubs, knitting groups, dancing, and acting groups as part of Potomac Playmakers.
A Catholic Christian Mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 20, 2019 at 11:00am in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 17630 Virginia Avenue, Hagerstown, MD. Rev. Father Christopher Moore will celebrate.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, September 19, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00pm at Harman Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac Street, Hagerstown, MD.
