Robert “Bob” Edward Henley of Hagerstown, MD passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at Meritus Medical Center. He was born March 4, 1943 to the late Raymond Etchison and Margaret Roberta Henley.
He was a long-time member of the Arc family living in our residential program and attending our day services. For those of you that knew Bob remember him singing “You are my Sunshine” and telling people to “Go home!!” when you entered his house. Bob was a great self-advocate by letting staff know he was ready to go home by loudly expressing himself with “Home; Home” and if you did not move fast enough, he would assist you by pushing you along. Bob enjoyed a good cup of coffee, loved hamburgers, car rides, helping clean up, yard work and spending time playing with his cards and pennies. He previously attended Chewsville Activity Center, Crossroads Activity Center where he worked with the recycling program, Florida Avenue Vocational Center, and Daybreak programs before retiring in November 2013.
Please join us on Wednesday January 22, 2020 at 11 a.m. at the Harman Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac Street Hagerstown, MD to honor and share great memories of Bob. Visitation will be held a half hour prior to the service at Harman's. Interment will be at Rest Haven Cemetery directly following the service.
