Geraldine V. Freeman, 83, of Hagerstown, Maryland, passed away peacefully at her home on September 10, 2020.
She was born in Luray, Virginia on September 21, 1936
Geraldine attended school in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
She was a dedicated member of the Elks Lodge #278 as an Executive Daughter Ruler of the Sharon Temple #160 in Hagerstown. As part of her duties with the Sharon Temple, Geraldine served on the Rainbow Council, Tri-State Association, and Commander of Elite Color Guards. She was a past State President and a past Grand Daughter Ruler with the Sharon Temple. Geraldine was also a member of The Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the American Legion Charles Hardin Lodge Post 74.
Geraldine was married to the late George A. Freeman.
She is survived by three children Frankie Russ (Rudy Russ), George Freeman, Georgetta Joseph (Savalis Joseph), 13 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and one aunt (Sara Woodson of Hagerstown, Maryland).
Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents Martha M. Faulkner and Charles Glenwood (Penny) Berry.
She was also preceded in death by four children (Curtis Douglas Freeman, Dottie Jean Freeman, Irene Jackson, Sylvia Freeman), and one sister (Cleo Smith, Hagerstown, MD)
Friends and relatives will be received at Harman Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac Street, Hagerstown, MD 21740 on Saturday, September 19, 2020 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m.
Interment will be held privately at a later date.
